Liquore Poncio Lupacchioli Advertising Poster by Achille Mauzan 1920's, Lupacchioli is one of the oldest Italian confectionery houses. He began his artisan production of sweets and liqueurs in 1840 in Campobasso. The “Marianna Lupacchioli and sons company” from the name of its founder, soon crossed the borders of the province due to its high quality.
In the mid-1800s its products were awarded by Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, by King Leopold II of Belgium. Ferdinand II of Bourbon of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies tasted the products of Lupacchioli both in his court in Naples and during his hunting trips in the Matese mountains. Lupacchioli liqueurs also reached the court of King Vittorio Emanuele II who appreciated their exquisite taste, as has been noted by historical documents present in the company. Achille Lucien Mauzan (1883, in Gap, Hautes-Alpes – 1952, in Gap) was born on the French Riviera, but moved to Italy in 1905, known as a decorative illustrator design...
