NYK Line Around the World by Georgii-Hemming. Georgii-Hemmingwas a Swedish born architect and cartoonist who lived and worked in Japan from 1932-1939. This impressive Art Deco image, with its stylized, angular typography and simplified forms is his only known poster. Nippon Yūsen Kabushiki Kaisha (日本郵船株式会社, Japan Mail Shipping Line), also known as NYK Line, is a Japanese shipping company and is a member of the Mitsubishi keiretsu. The company has its headquarters in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. It has a fleet of about 800 ships, which includes container ships, tankers, bulk and woodchip carriers, Ro-Ro car carriers, reefer vessels, LNG carriers, and cruise ships.

From the time I was a child I have been intrigued with the patterning of light and the interaction of color. In the course of my life path I fell away from any sense of creative freedom, working from what I thought was expected of me.
